The ‘Inclusive Leadership programme’ is a leadership development programme for black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) teachers, designed to equip participants with the confidence, skills, knowledge and support needed to make a successful application for promotion.

Launching November 2018 and concluding in July 2019 this programme is fully-funded by the Leadership Equality and Diversity fund.

The programme will begin with a regional network launch led by Diana Osagie (CEO Courageous Leadership). It will offer high quality professional learning to participants through connecting with inspirational BAME leaders and facilitators and support the development of a local and meaningful network of BAME leaders which will continue beyond the lifetime of the programme.

Participants will benefit from comprehensive leadership development, which is tailored to their needs, including: two personal coaching sessions, the opportunity to shadow successful school leaders in an area of personal interest, hearing from inspiring speakers from within and beyond education, and structured 360 feedback.

Sessions will consist of a mixture of twilight, half-day and full days, and explore themes such as:

A complementary training session on unconscious bias will also be offered for the governors, headteachers and business managers of participants’ schools.
