A day to explore a range of useful art skills and presentation techniques. Working with Professional artist Jack Brown to delve into clay, lino cut prints, casting with plaster, drawing, photography, film, apps and printing in chocolate. We will also cover curriculum links, how to use ‘thinking routines’ to look critically at artworks and displays/exhibitions. The day can be tailored to a more specific skill set if needs be. Jack has worked as an artist in residence at Tidemill Academy for 10 years. Working across the school Jack has designed a skills based art curriculum that teaches pupils a range of key art skills throughout their time at primary school. Skill units include clay, taking a line for a walk, paint and colour, drawing from life, 3D construction and how to look at art and artists. Jack works with a range of local cultural spaces and organisations on projects that get pupils artworks out into the local community; pupils drawing to live music at The Albany Theatre, whole school gallery exhibitions, teaching their art skills at Goldsmiths University and exhibiting work as part of Deptford X. Jack also works as a freelance artistic consultant with The Saatchi Gallery, The Princes Foundation for Children and the Arts, The Jack Petchey Trust, Deutche Bank and the Albany,

In 2014, Jack won the Marsh Award for excellence in gallery education.
